Once upon a time, I auditioned for one of NYU’s music programs after I graduated high school. They said my SAT’s were great, my audition was great, but I was denied admission due to my poor performance in 9th grade (WHAT???!??). Anyways, that was all a blessing in disguise.
DJ Rekha invited me to speak in her class at NYU today, called Bhangra, Bollywood, and Beyond. I spoke about my experiences in India last year as I spent six months there, before my visa expired and the motherland kicked me out.
